Book Review

The subtitle of this book spells PALINDROME: Perfectly Arranged Letters, Incredibly Natural, Dramatically Reversed, Obviously Magically Enlightening! That is an apt description of this volume. Contained within its 380 pages are over six thousand original palindromes, and some of the best ever invented. Chin is a natural at creating natural-sounding palindromic sentences: ET is drawn in at an inward site, Stunt: New Yorker trek Roy went nuts, and some that are much, much longer. Many of the palindromes are poetic and philosophical. On the back cover of the book, Derrel Sims describes first getting to know Derek Chin: "I learned of his remarkable ability to create palindromes. I have never seen anyone in Mensa, Intertel or other high IQ societies, who could create palindromes instantaneously and in such incredible volume." This truly unique book cannot be passed by by any true word lover.
